<![CDATA[ Fusing folk, Americana, blues, pop, jazz, rock and a-cappella singing, Brother Sun is full of musical diversity and harmony.

The group's combined skills make for a memorable musical experience -- three rich voices blending over a well-crafted foundation of guitar, slide guitar, bouzouki and piano.

After successful performances at both Kerrville and Falcon Ridge folk festivals in 2011 and sold-out concerts throughout the U.S., the group earned return invitations to Kerrville and Falcon Ridge, among other major gigs.

The trio's self-titled album debuted at No. 2 on the folk DJ charts, where it remained for eight months.

Friedman first entered into pop consciousness with the top-20 chart success of his hit single "Ariel," a quirkily and uncategorizable pop song about a free-spirited, pot-smoking, vegetarian Jewish girl who lived, as the lyric goes, "... way on the other side of the Hudson."

Friedman scored again with the release of his follow-up album, " `Well, Well,' Said The Rocking Chair," and the hit single, "Lucky Stars."

The group was formed by Jimmy Ekizian, Hey Baby's lead singer and trumpet player.

Saxophonist Chris Coulter, a lifelong Connecticut resident, has performed with jazz greats Clark Terry, Gerry Mulligan, Pepper Adams, Bob Brookmeyer and Dave Weckl.

On Thursday, May 30, at 7 p.m. the Heirloom Arts Theatre will host an evening of alternative indie music. ]]>
