DANBURY -- Last fall's stormy weather wrecked the city's outdoor performance space, but a new band shell has been installed downtown, with the bulk of the free CityCenter summer concert series still ahead.

The job was completed this week, and on Friday at 7 p.m., Mayor Mark Boughton, CityCenter Executive Director Andrea Gartner and others are set to dedicate the shell with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Following the dedication, the Skanktones are scheduled to be the first headline act in Friday night's concert.

The doo-wop group In Harmony is booked to perform Saturday, with an opening act at 7 p.m., and concerts are scheduled for every Friday and Saturday -- and some Thursdays -- through Aug. 25.
