NEW MILFORD -- The semifinals of the Karaoke for a Cause contest are scheduled for Saturday at SJ Barrington's Cafe & Grill, 48 Kent Road.
Amateur singers are competing for a first prize of a one-week stay at a Bethany Beach, Del., home that sleeps 11, a vacation valued at $3,000.
Second prize will be a dinner for four prepared in the winner's home by Blythe Roberts, chef instructor of the Community Culinary School of Northwestern Connecticut.
Third prize will be a "taste of New Milford," which will include gift cards from six area restaurants.
Proceeds from Karaoke for a Cause will benefit the Alzheimer's Association, Connecticut Chapter.
Audience members can cheer on their favorites and participate in the fundraising via raffles and silent auctions during the event. The finals will be March 3.
