NEW MILFORD -- A 4-year-old neutered boxer that belongs to a family visiting from Boston disappeared in the West Meetinghouse Road area Sunday evening.

The dog was spooked by fireworks, said resident Chrisanne Cubby, who distributed email alerts Tuesday.

The owners have scoured the Squire Hill area searching for the dark brown dog with a white chest. It is not wearing a collar, Cubby said.

If someone spots the pet, she asks that they try to get it to a secure place and call 860-355-8354 or 914-815-0051. A reward will be given for the dog's return.
