DANBURY -- Police said a Bridgeport man hid in the trunk of his girlfriend's car while officers investigated a claim that he had tried to hold her against her will.
According to Western Connecticut State University police, officers found Claude Ennis, 32, Thursday after his girlfriend popped the trunk of her car to retrieve a car seat.
His girlfriend, whose identity was not released, had called police to report Ennis tried to stop her from getting out of her car during a heated argument between the two, according to a campus police news release.
Her 2-year-old child was with her at the time, the release said.
Ennis, who is not a student, was arrested and charged with unlawful restraint and breach of peace, the release said.
The arrest happened about 9:50 a.m. in a parking lot outside the Old Main building.
