DANBURY -- A 45-year-old Danbury man pleaded not guilty Monday in state Superior Court to charges he tried to molest a 15-year-old girl last week.

Leoncis Rojas, of Kimberly Trail, was charged with attempted fourth-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor as a result of an investigation by Youth Bureau detectives. The incident allegedly occurred July 31, police said.

Court documents indicate the girl contacted her father to tell him about the incident, and he took her to the police station to file a report.

When confronted about the allegations, Rojas initially denied any wrongdoing, but he eventually admitted he tried to get the girl to touch him while he was naked, according to the arrest warrant affidavit.

Rojas remains in custody on $100,000 bond and is due back in court Aug. 17.
