N.Y. woman charged with DWI

CARMEL, N.Y. -- A 50-year-old Mahopac, N.Y., woman was arrested Friday afternoon on suspicion of drunken driving after police received a report of someone driving erratically near the Lake Plaza Shopping Center, Carmel police said.

Joanne Multari faces a charge of driving while intoxicated, Carmel police said Monday.

Multari was arraigned in Town Court and held in Putnam County Jail after failing to post $500 bail, police said.

By the time police arrived at the shopping center, Multari had left, police said. She was arrested later at her home, after failing a field sobriety test, police said.
