BANTAM -- A Washington man accused of striking a 3-year-old boy was arraigned on Tuesday but did not enter a plea, according to online court records and a news report.
Ralph Gagliardi, who made an appearance Tuesday in Bantam Superior Court, faces charges of risk of injury to a child, disorderly conduct, third-degree assault and reckless endangerment, state police said.
According to authorities, Gagliardi was arrested about 11:20 a.m. Tuesday at a residence on Baldwin Hill Road.
It was not immediately clear whether Gagliardi and the victim are related.
Gagliardi, who was assigned a public defender for his arraignment, had been held in jail in lieu of $25,000, but a Superior Court judge on Tuesday raised bail to $35,000, online court records show. His next court date was set for Aug. 10. Gagliardi's court-appointed lawyer could not be reached for comment Friday.
